WHY GET SICK TO FIND OUT YOU’RE SICK?
Let’s start this by saying...you are doing great! If you are a parent you know that there is an instinctual part of you that kicks in when you have a child to shield them from any harm, hurt or pain. You spend hours on end trying to find ways to prevent them from making the same mistakes you did or having the same problems you had to overcome.
ALLERGY, SENSITIVITY OR INTOLERANCE??
We are hopeful that gone are the days where we need to reintroduce gluten into our bodies, just as they begin to feel better, in order to properly identify if gluten is the culprit.
GOOD NEWS!! Want to get tested for celiac without having to ingest gluten the week prior and feel awful in order to have a more accurate reading?
NEW YEAR, NEW DISCOVERIES
In today’s society we hear the term food allergy so often that we start to equate all negative reactions from food to an allergy. Yet, there are different levels for so many people as well as understanding that our body’s reaction may not be triggered by a true immune response but rather a sensitivity to or difficulty in digesting a particular food.
Gluten-Free means Gluten-Free
As we get into the New Year, many people set certain goals, resolutions, etc. We here at Wheat’s End Café are striving to provide a platform for our guests to find information, ideas and support within our new website.
How often have you dined out and asked for a Gluten-Free menu or if a particular item is Gluten-Free and our server ensures you it is…only to find out it is cooked in the vicinity of other gluten containing items?!
What does Gluten-Free even mean?
Having been diagnosed with Celiac over 12 years ago quite a few friends and family members reach out to me with articles, GF restaurants, food recommendations, recipes, research and so much more. I recently was sent this article and found it quite interesting. If you suffer from Celiac Disease or know someone who does it may be worth the read!
It is much more common now to hear someone at a restaurant or in passing say … “Is that Gluten-Free?” Maybe its even your friend or family member…WHAT exactly is Gluten. There is a post we found that breaks it down and thought it may interest our followers. Check out this Blog for more information!
Recent statistics show that 1 in 10 people avoid Gluten today. What does this mean?? That restaurants, cafes, bakeries and more are being told that this group is not going to accept flavor-less GF food any longer! This market is demanding choice, with the focus on taste and quality (SOURCE).
